The Ballad of Jenn and Ben

Wayne Gagnon - Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck as Elektra and Daredevil

“The Ballad of Jenn and Ben”

by Wayne Gagnon
(for Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck)

‘Twas a bromance in Beantown…
…between Matthew and Ben.
Who’da thunk they’d be winning…
…those gold statues as men.

Almost Amish in Prinston…
…lived two sisters and Jenn.
One took off for the city…
…and a Globe she would win.

When young Matt was not looking…
…Benny got some red tights.
Kept them stashed in the daytime…
…slipped them on in the nights.

Then, sweet Jenny, she showed up…
…with two knives and a vest.
Yes, she knew how to swing them…
…and could kick like the best.

Poor, sweet Jenny got tangled…
…twisted up in some wires.
Ben climbed up and he saved her…
…then their hearts burned like fires.

They were first seen as honeys…
…at a Boston Sox game.
Then a couple months later…
…the two shared a last name.

Along came their Violet…
…Seraphina made two.
They sure love their two lovelies…
…but there’s more left to do.

They signed up for another…
…and they’re filled with much joy.
And, according to papers…
…they’re expecting a boy.

With the glitter of movies…
…and grand places to roam.
Jenn and Ben and their babies…
…still find comfort at home.

NOTE: Ahhh… Sitting on the patio at Rao’s in Amherst, sipping my black coffee.  More than twenty-five 2×3 inch sketches created.  A lovely couple walked up to me, interested in what I was doing.  We chatted.  They each walked away with a memento of the encounter.
