If you are not making someone else’s life better,
then you are wasting your time. — Will Smith
This is such an exciting week of art for me! I’m privileged to be involved with five wonderful benefits. There are so many opportunities out there. Let’s all use our talents to save the world.
March 23 – Gator Sings will be raffled at Granby Men Who Cook Benefit Dinner to support the Granby Music Parents Association. (more)
March 23 – Rodeo will be auctioned at the Gutter Boys Forth Annual Bowl-a-Thon to benefit AIDS CARE/Hampshire County. (more)
March 24 – Handy Hare will be raffled to support the Granby Church of Christ Congregational Youth Group. (more)
Wait, that’s not all…
- [Done] I gave a certificate for a 16×20 inch acrylic on canvas painting “commission” for Granby Free Public Spring Fling Auction on March 22. (March 23, 2013 UPDATE: This is done. I have yet to hear how it went. I also gave a copy of my book “Neato Speedo” for the “Chinese Raffle”) (more)
- [Done] I sketched
I’ll be sketching on the Old Courthouse Lawn in Northampton to support Monte Belmonte’s Camp out for the Cancer Connection on March 20. (March 23, 2013 UPDATE: Weather was cold, but permitting)

On Wednesday, March 13, I
will be reading read selections from my book, Neato Speedo: 100 Poems of Summer, at Food for Thought Books in Amherst as part of their event Open: The Voice of the People. (UPDATE: Things went quite well! I even got a chance to read a couple extra “Souvenir” poems as we waited for the last poet to arrive.)
Neato Speedo is a somewhat of a journal (in verse) of the Summer of 2012. The short, whimsical poems in the book are based on the people I’ve met, places I’ve been and things I’ve done.

All money raised from the auction will support the youth group in their quest to fund their trip to New York City to attend Nightwatch Crossroads, a faith exploration and building event at which they will meet youth from across the country.
Tickets will be sold through March 24, 2013, at which time the winning tickets will be drawn. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
