No Nutella

Wayne Gagnon - Toast, no Nutella

“No Nutella”
by Wayne Gagnon
(for Adam)

Clouds gather for Adam…
…such a sad little fella.
His toast just popped up…
…but he’s out of Nutella.

A Moment (with Uncle Bill)

Wayne Gagnon - A Moment, A Toast
“A Moment”
by Wayne Gagnon
(for “Uncle Bill”)

He wore faded denim overalls…
…and a plain, white tee.
He offered up some brandy…
…a sip for him, a sip for me.

He made a heartfelt toast…
…to a “good man” long since passed.
Sweet moments such as this…
…were never meant to last.

Cowgirl Sis

Wayne Gagnon - Yankee Cowgirl

“Cowgirl Sis”
by Wayne Gagnon
(for Tammy, 2009)

Pushing pushing pencils; Filing that and this;
Thinking ’bout the horses; Always cowgirl sis;

Crazy busy Summers; Busy crazy Falls;
Thinking ’bout the horses; (They’re) waiting in the stalls;

Stacking stacking pumpkins; Bagging bagging corn;
Thinking ’bout the horses; That’s why you were born;

‘Tatoes carrots radish(es); Sorting sorting roots;
Thinking ’bout the horses; (and) slipping on the boots;

Counting stocking veggies; Breads and other goods;
Thinking ’bout the horses; Thinking ’bout the woods;

Pushing pushing pencils; Filing that and this;
Thinking ’bout the horses; Always cowgirl sis;

Gray

Wayne Gagnon - Gray

“Gray”
by Wayne Gagnon

Betwixt what is…
…and what could be
Lies a grayer…
…form of he

Nothing’s white…
…and nothing’s black
Yestermorrow…
…won’t be back

Music Man

Wayne Gagnon - Music Man

“Music Man”
by Wayne Gagnon
(for Greg)

Music man…
…he has a plan…
…to play the world a tune.
He’ll blow his brass…
…with style and class…
…you just might want to swoon.

Music dude…
…he’ll change your mood…
…just like a fuzzy sweater.
He’ll kick your frown…
…right out of town…
…he’ll make your crankies better.

Music guy…
…he’s kind of sly…
…he’ll play his catchy song.
There is no doubt…
…you’ll lose your pout…
…and want to sing along.

Music man…
…he has a plan…
…to play the world a tune.
He’ll blow his brass…
…with style and class…
…you just might want to swoon.
