Artist note: I started this painting in May of 2018. It’s a humble request to all of us to really look at the divided, angry monster this country has become. This is also a hopeful challenge to see what we can do to fix it.

2018 Granby Artisan’s Show

I have been wanting to paint a portrait of Frida Kahlo for years. However, I struggled with how to approach a painting of such a beloved icon and strong woman. Alas, after a long, long time of avoiding her, here she is. Salud, Frida! I hope you approve.
